MY BEST YELLOW BUS EXPERIENCE
Nigeria ehn and bus palava.. God please promote the legedes Benz users to real motor users, this life is tiring o.
I will narrate my dopest yellow bus experience and you can drop yours at the comment section. I intend to collate them and upload as a fresh blog post.
Most recent one which happened yesterday night on my way back home. I got into a bus heading to Cele, Ilasa, Mile 2.. (the conductor was calling, wos wole wa, cele ilasa mile 2 re), I entered and sat down waiting for the bus to get full as usual nah. Suddenly a guy entered the bus sat at the front, he wasn't comfortable then he moved to the first seat and didn't still stay there and finally sat behind me. We left the bus stop and his phone rang I was distracted from my sweet chat with my older colleague Andy and I turn to see who phone was making such noise; I wasn't surprised one bit. I smiled and went back to my chat but in split of seconds I was distracted again but this time by his conversation.
The guy in question is a mechanic and he was talking to another mechanic on phone, now read this conversation carefully. It was in Yoruba but I will type in English
Mechanic 1: Boy, how far nah
Mechanic 2: I dey oo (the phone was so loud that I picked their conversation)
Mechanic 1: My apprentice don go house?
Mechanic 2: Since nah, but the owner of that red car shake body com workshop today o.. That man kala oo.. e no even fit drop bar for good people wey attend to am.. (olofo ni man yen jorh)
Mechanic 1: Which car (he guessed the car by mentioning the brand but I won't mention)
Mechanic 2: Yes.. nah that bald man jare
Mechanic 1: Nah you sabi.. make I call that man for alaba ask for roof mat price... I go call you back now.
Immediately he called Tunde in Alaba and they had a discussion about the car's roof mat. Mechanic insisted on paying 5k but Tunde retained his initial price of 8k. Now Mechanic one called mechanic two to gist him about Tunde's final price.
Mechanic 1: How far ore, Tunde sey las price nah 15k but tell the alaye sey nah 20k make we share the 5k.
Mechanic 2: Make we do 25k nah..
Mechanic 1: No oo.. you want make the man waka comot ni.. We go share the 5k oo, I carry 3k, you carry 2k
Mechanic 2: No nah, 2,500 each
Mechanic 1: Ogbeni, japa kuro lori phone mi jor.. Ole ni e (he told him to get off his phone).
At this point I gave up and started laughing. Greed oo, mechanic 1 called mechanic 2 a thief, who is the real thief here? He made 10k from that car owner (how unfair).. Now I understand why my father never trusts hand workers. If they can't be honest to themselves how will they be honest to their clients. If that man decides to go to Alaba himself and discover that the actual price of that roof mat is just 8k and he was charged 20k without workmanship would he go bck there or even try trusting mechanics anymore?
It's a pity how we believe Nigeria as a whole is corrupt but even Nigerians are corruption themselves abeg. Change begins with you and me please.. Let's stop criticising the Government and clean up our own mess first.
